Time to Go On Vacation

Now all the Rangers can do is rest for 5 days. Get healthy, get some good rest and some good practice time in. This is going to be a miserable 5 days as all we can do is watch other teams gain points and catch up or run away from us in the standings. I'll be posting daily results of the other team’s scores during the week and updated Eastern Conference standings. Unfortunately I have to say we may be as low as 10th by the end of this but all we can do is wait and see. I think with the craziness and the inconsistent play by all teams in the NHL that we end up either 8th or 9th and obviously within striking distance of the playoffs. Once most of the teams have an almost equal amount of games as us, then we can really judge the Rangers place in the hunt for the playoffs.

With the trade deadline coming up, expect this week to be a good time for Sather to try and start working up some trades. There have been many mentions of trading Jagr and Malik by different sports writers but no rumors out there about anything in the works. Also expect a possible announcement of a Lundqvist contract extension. Rumor has it that they are close and it should be done any day now.
