A Stolen Win - Post Game Thoughts Rangers 5 - Canadiens 3

That was a stolen win if I ever saw one. Montreal out played us throughout almost the entire game. They were the better team by far and they had many more quality opportunities. Even after the Hollweg dumb penalty, the entire team stepped up. Henrik was Henrik, which was the reason we won. Yea, he gave up three goals but when it mattered he was a stone wall. He stopped everything to keep this game close. If not for him the Rangers don’t win this game. He is starting to play more like we expect him to and a game like this should definitely give him some momentum into a stretch of games every other day this week.

How about Drury. It took Gomez a while to feel comfortable and this stretch by Drury seems to show he is finally comfortable. And you see what happens when our top players are playing like they are supposed to. We have scored plenty of goals and the overall team morale just seems so much better. I think Drury has finally come into his own and it can only mean great things for the Rangers.

This is a win that is such a big momentum builder. On the road, you come back from down 3 goals against a great team. The goals were just skillful pretty goals. Gomez found a rebound, Mara ripped one, Dubinsky had an almost perfect shot and Drury had a great goal. The scoring was distributed amongst the whole team, which is a great thing. Having all these players scoring allows the team to not worry so much. If only one line is scoring, than basically the whole game revolves around that one line. With all different lines scoring, if one line is playing so well, we know that someone can successfully cover for them and the team can still win. If this continues, the Rangers can be a dangerous team.
