Ducks at Rangers - First Period Thoughts

I had the absolute pleasure of watching that first period on the Ducks broadcast station. These guys who announce the game do it in a fair and unbiased manner. This is a first class organization. When the team scores they act like they've been there before because, well they have. They are the champs, they act like it and they carry themselves accordingly. Much respect to this organization.

As far as the game is concerned, as classy as the Ducks are they are just as good. This is and will be a tough game. The Ducks are steady in all aspects of the game and I believe it will take an extraordinary performance from the likes of Jagr, Gomez, or Drury to win this game. Kudos to the Rangers for not taking any penalties, getting the puck to the net and creating chances.

This is just great hockey to watch. Might have been my favorite period of the year despite the score. The game has fluidity to it, the goaltending has been excellent and both teams are playing with passion. Whatever happens in this game, the Rangers should use this experience to understand how a championship team plays on a nightly basis.

Ducks Announcer: "This kid Dubinsky is one of the best Rangers prospects we've seen in a long time"
